Running without using running shoes had been a gimmick that commenced around 10 years ago and endured a couple of years. This grew to become really popular but faded away equally as quick as it showed up. Barefoot running is simply different to running in shoes. Since the barefoot craze died off, there was clearly a conversion to considerably more highly padded shoes. This was the opposite to the craze of barefoot and it too got called a fad. Except, presently you won't notice any signs of that trend to the higher padded running shoes falling off, so it will be in all probability pretty sure that its really not a fad but a long term trend. Running barefoot or with traditional running shoes or using maximal cushioned running shoes are merely different. One is not better than the other and individual runners will likely have their own preferences as to what they like to run in and that's alright.
